What on earth is an "attending physician"? Is it a doctor who is bodily present (hope so) when talking to a patient? Or a doctor in full attention when the patient is writing a check? And why are patients called "patient"? Can't I be attended by a doctor if I'm impatient or as Webster defines it, "restlessly eager"?
