David, that's the million dollar question, isn't it? You need to build your own email list which is another topic in itself. Having a 3,000-plus "house list" helped me get my first 70 subscribers even though they were subscribers to my technical writing list. But I invited them to try me out on Substack since I didn't have any other choice. 70 of them listened. I'm grateful.
