Andre, you have a valid point. I have also left a well-known yoga school in the past due to similar disappointments and concerns. Yet the heart of devotion belongs to us. The longing is there. The sense of purity and love are there. Those things are for real, not artifacts, and that’s what keeps me on the path even though I have no idea where it is leading to. The pull is between us (our daily selves) and our hearts, not between us and someone else, even if his name is “Guru.”
