Andre, after all is said and done, it all goes back to the old existentialist maxim that we are responsible from the moment, we are responsible for our actions because there is actually no external force, no external determination that we can use as a reason to “explain” what we are doing here on Earth.

For me, that’s the real meaning of our predicament as human beings, the real meaning of the phrase “SUCH IS OUR LOT.” It is the responsibility of our existential freedom that rejects the-devil-(or the UFOs)-made-me-do-it kind of “explanations.”

In a way, it is a sorry state because we are all adults and all alone with the consequences of our actions. We don’t have any alibi to place us at a location other than the “crime scene,” so to speak. But on the other hand, it is also a very heroic and noble state as well since we create our own past/present/future, our own karma, our very own hell and heaven on this blue planet.
