Alexandra, it depends on what your real intention is when you say "some subjects I want to write about aren't for this platform." If you mean "I can't make money writing what I want to write," you may be correct. But you'll always find people on Medium interested in what you have to say. You will find readers here even though you might not be able to pay the mortgage or rent through just writing. Same goes for Substack, BTW.
